  • Yes. Asheville Pathology Partners provides outsourced histology services, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and special stains for pathology practices, hospitals, and laboratories.

  • We accept formalin-fixed tissue, paraffin blocks, and prepared specimens for processing, sectioning, and staining.

  • Turnaround times vary by case type, but many biopsy cases can be completed same day or next day. Larger or complex specimens follow standard processing timelines.

  • Yes. We routinely receive paraffin blocks for sectioning, recuts, deeper levels, serial sections, and slide preparation.

  • Yes. We offer immunohistochemistry services with validated protocols and quality controls. Custom panels may be available depending on client needs.

  • We perform a range of special stains, including commonly requested stains such as PAS, GMS, Trichrome, and Verhoeff-Van Gieson (VVG), among others.

  • Yes. We work with clients to accommodate custom staining requests when feasible.

  • Yes. We accept unprocessed autopsy tissue for fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.

  • Yes. Asheville Pathology Partners is a CLIA-certified technical component histology laboratory.

  • No. We are a technical component (TC) laboratory only. All diagnostic interpretation is generally performed by the submitting pathologist. However, if needed, we can make accommodations for slides to be read by board-certified pathologists off-site.
